Name Ayelet ShavivAbout Honestly, I don’t consider myself an "artist". I may have boldly written it there below, but it’s only because it's an effective exercise in self-empowerment; because I am in the process of knowing my own worth and believing in me, not necessarily as an artist, but as a unique individual. When I draw, paint, sculpt, design, animate or even write in my journal, I am captured in the moment, engulfed in the craft-making process, in love with the act itself. It is where I run to, it is my freedom, my silence, my peace. Whether it comes out ugly or beautiful, in the end it should not matter, because it was always a self-liberating experience, and that is my original purpose when I create, to express the self, re-energize the body and fulfill the soul. I may sound hypocritical, because here I am flaunting my art on the web, but I guess it's also an act of personal progress, a declaration of self-significance, or just something I always wanted to do, expose myself to the world with a click of a button. Anyway, thanks for viewing my portfolio and for listening to me ramble on. I appreciate your genuine human interest and especially the gift of your attention. Thank you. Sincerely, Ayelet. 11.5.07 |
